With the FIFA world cup around the corner there aren’t many K-dramas lined up this June. However, it doesn’t mean that these June 2026 K-dramas aren’t something you should look forward to. These upcoming K-dramas of 2026 are filled with workplace romance, psychological thriller, action and drama. These new Korean dramas of June 2026 are being released across different platforms over the course of the month.

1. Doctor on the edge (닥터 섬보이)

Release Date: 1st June, 2026

Among the first Disney Plus K-dramas of June 2026 is ‘Doctor on edge’ also referred to as Doctor Seomboy or Endurance Doctor, a K-drama based on the webtoon titled ‘Endurance Doctor’ written by Kim Tae-poong. Directed by Lee Myung Woo, this medical romance follows Do Ji Ui; a plastic surgeon played by one of Korea’s hottest leading actors Lee Jae-wook. With military service being mandatory in South Korea, Do Ji Ui is part of the few privileged medical students who can work as public health doctors instead. But, when assigned to an isolated island no one wants to go to, sinister signs begin to appear right from day one. Can Do Ji Ui survive a full year on Pyeondong-do island? 2. Teach you a lesson (참교육)

The first June Netflix K-dramas 2026 is ‘Teach you a lesson’ directed by Hong Jong-chan and based on a controversial webtoon titled ‘Get Schooled’ written by Chae Yong-taek and illustrated by Han Ga-ram. This television series written by Lee Nam Gyu follows the story of Na Hwa Jin, played by Kim Mu-yeol. Na Hwa Jin belongs to a specialized government agency called the Educational Rights Protection Bureau, a Bureau formed for the Protection of Teachers’ Rights. When school teachers have a hard time disciplining students and dealing with toxic parents, that is when this Bureau is authorized to step in, restoring order using unconventional, strict and physically forceful tactics. The drama consists of school violence and justice with action – heavy social commentary.  

3. The Lie We Lived In (거짓말이 사는 집)

This thriller BL series is directed by Son Tae Gyum, following the story of Seo I Do, a contract killer played by Kim Seung-beom, who is tasked with the mission to kill Heo Dong-hwa played by Lee Jeong-ho. However, Seo I Do’s mission takes a turn with the arrival of Heo Dong-hwa played by Kim Gyeong-min who happens to be a detective. Stuck to live with each other due to Seo I Do’s boss asking him to stay put and keep Heo Dong-hwa captive, Heo Dong-hwa slowly gets closer to the truth as well as to Seo I Do. With secrets coming to the surface Seo I Do is left with 2 painful choices 1. To get the job done or 2. Risk everything. This drama is one of the darkest dramas arriving this month. 

4. See You at Work Tomorrow! (내일도 출근!)

This workplace drama is Adapted from the webtoon “I’m Going to Work Tomorrow! by McQueen Studio and directed by Jo Eun Sol. This Seo In-guk drama follows the story of Cha Ji Yun, an office worker burnt out from her monotonous 9 to 5 and her strictly disciplined supervisor Kang Si U. The drama depicts how their once awkward interactions slowly melts into comfortable meetings. Expected to be June’s biggest rom-com, the drama will not only portray the characters healing each other but will also heal your soul.

5. Notes from the Last Row (맨 끝줄 소년)

Adapted from the Spanish play “The Boy in the Last Row” by Juan Mayorga, this K-drama is directed by Kim Kyu Tae and is likely to be the month’s most acclaimed drama. The series follows Heo Mun O played by Choi Min-sik, who is a literature professor and a failure writer. Bored of his university job, his life takes a turn when he reads the stories of a student from his class who always sits on the last row of the lecture hall. These stories fascinate Heo Mun O and build a profound admiration towards the students’ brilliance. Lee Gang, played by Choi Hyun Wook, is the student to whom Heo Mun O offers private writing tutorials too. However, the drama soon takes a twisted route when Heo Mun O realises that the stories begin to closely mirror and blend into the lives of those around them. The curiosity that stems from this soon transforms into dark obsession, manipulation and psychological chaos, collapsing the mentorship structure between the two.  

6. Agent Kim Reactivated (김부장)
