Im sure we all have come across instances where; when someone asks us to name a strong character, our first thought usually goes to strong male characters like Zoro, Levi, Gojo, etc. And these are just the classic popular characters. But its also fair enought to say that in the current generation of anime, there are Girl Boss anime characters that dominate the entire anime.

Powerful female characters are allowed the hype. Its these strong women in anime that attract that large base of audience that needed the confidence. Thought these badass anime girls aren’t exactly the main protagonist, they sure do have the aura to pull the main character energy. I would be speaking for most of us when I say that seeing these strong anime heroines on screen builds a sense of pride and power within us.

I can easily say that there are so many anime out there whose most memorable characters involve women who demand respect, authority and dominate their fields. From leading nations to hunting titans and even wiping out entire clans, these are girls that embody the “Girl Boss Energy”

1. Mikasa Ackerman

Of course at the top of the list is the ultimate girl boss, Mikasa Ackerman. In Attack on Titan, Mikasa played the role of an elite soldier. Being deemed as one of humanities strongest soldiers, the girl boss tag is made for her. Mikasa is someone who never backs down from a fight, especially if it is to protect Eren. We’ve also seen instances where Mikasa is an army of her own having outperformed many male soldiers. One of the most enduring traits of Mikasa is he unmatched loyalty combined with her over the top combat skills. Safe to say she is the OG girl boss.

2. Maki Zenin

Yes, we’ve all seen that episode and yes, we all know she deserves to be on this list. Maki Zenin carries the attitude of “I’ll show you exactly what I can do and prove you wrong”. Born into a clan that constantly undermines women, Maki Zenin was the perfect person to get rid of that ideology. She refused for her so called prestigious clan to dictate her life. Having born with relatively low cursed energy, she proved herself to be stronger than people underestimate her to be through her own hard work and effort. That one episode carried so much aura that it had an inbuilt replay of THE most iconic panel.

3. Nobara Kugisaki

When we usually see feminine characters in anime they are either completely girly or straight up Tom boys, there’s no in between. However, Nobara breaks that very stereotype. She is someone that embraces her feminity while also fighting ever so fiercely. Nobara is powerful, confident and independent. She is most admired for always standing up for herself and never apologising for who she is. She enjoys when she can and fights like her life depends on it when she cant. She is among those characters who are refreshing to watch.

4. Yor Forger

Yor Forger is the badass mother we all wished we had. She is a wife who lives a double life and somehow manages to balance both both lives perfectly. To everyone she knows and loves, she is a dedicated mother to Anya and a humble wife to her husband Loid Forger. However, in reality, she is one of the deadliest assassins of her country named The Thorn Princess. We see how she has the ability to switch between her personas from a lovable awkward and shy wife, who is trying to fit into society to a combat princess, who is the ultimate secret weapon to her country.

5. Olivier Mira Armstrong

If there was a CEO of Girl Boss energy, Olivier is the epitome of exactly that. She is somaeone who commands the room the second she walks into it. She carries the energy that makes people fall under her command without her even saying a word. She is not someone who had to prove herself or her position in the anime but she was someone who demanded authority without having to ask for it. Being the high-ranking military commander of a massive military fortress, she believes in the motto ‘If you want respect earn it. If you want to survive, be useful’. And if that is not Girl Boss energy, I don’t know what is. She is someone that people depend on often being the smartest person in the room.
