Suzy and Lee Jin Uk have officially wrapped filming for their heartfelt romance film 7 a.m. Breakfast Meeting for the Heartbroken, set to release later this year.

The much-anticipated romance film 7 a.m. Breakfast Meeting for the Heartbroken, starring Suzy and Lee Jin Uk, has officially completed its filming phase. On April 7, production studios Wizwix Studio and Management SOOP confirmed that the movie wrapped production last month, marking the end of a three-month shoot that began in December 2024.

Adapted from the novel of the same name, 7 a.m. Breakfast Meeting for the Heartbroken explores the emotional journeys of two people dealing with love, heartbreak, and healing. Suzy plays the role of Sa Gang, a flight attendant who finds herself in a complex and emotionally charged relationship with Captain Jeong Su, portrayed by veteran actor Yoo Ji Tae. Suzy expressed her gratitude for being part of the film, saying,

“I was happy to work with a great director and cast. Adapting a novel I enjoyed was truly special. Just as I found comfort playing Sa Gang, I hope audiences will also feel warmth through this story.”

Lee Jin Uk takes on the role of Ji Hoon, a consultant instructor grappling with the end of a long-term relationship with teacher Hyun-jung, played by Geum Sae Rok. Reflecting on his experience, he shared,

“I’m both happy and nostalgic as filming ends. This project gave me a lot of positive energy. While portraying Ji Hoon, I tried to convey the pain and complexity of parting. I hope viewers find empathy and comfort in the film.”

Director Lim Seon Ae, who leads the adaptation, praised the dedication of the team, stating,

“Thanks to the tireless efforts of our cast and crew, we’ve successfully completed filming. We’ll now focus on post-production to bring this story to life on screen.”

The film promises to blend emotional depth with cinematic beauty, offering audiences a raw and relatable portrayal of heartbreak and healing.

Both lead actors are set to return to screens with exciting new projects. Suzy will be seen in Delusion alongside Kim Seon Ho and in Genie, Make a Wish with Kim Woo Bin. Lee Jin Uk, meanwhile, gears up for Squid Game Season 3 and the film Esquire.

7 a.m. Breakfast Meeting for the Heartbroken is scheduled for theatrical release in the second half of 2025, and is already generating buzz as a must-watch romance film of the year.
