Released in 2020, True Beauty was one of the most sensational high school romance kdrama’s based on the webtoon of the same name. The show starred Moon Ga Young as the main lead,’ Lim Jukyung’, Cha Eun Woo, as the male lead ‘Lee Suho’ and Hwang In Yeop as the second lead ‘Han Seo Joon’.
The story has a happy ending for the main leads and a really sad situation for the second lead, which broke the hearts of most of the viewers. But why? We all know that Han Seo Joon in the drama was a real gem! His character was way better and more pleasing than Suho, and most of them felt that Jukyung and Seo Joon should’ve ended up together. The way Suho left Jukyung due to his family issues and then never contacted her for years was really harsh towards Jukyung. As she struggled her way through, Seo Joon was the one who always cared for her, was with her through the good and bad times, and always supported her.
Kdrama Plot
In the drama, Suho and Jukyung were in love with each other, or you can say they had a crush on each other way before Seo Joon developed feelings for Jukyung. After all the struggles and hardships during their school time, Suho confessed his feelings first, and they started dating. Yes, they were madly and so fully in love. Whereas Han Seo Joon Lee Suho and Lim Jukyung’s best friend hesitated to confess his feelings and didn’t get the courage to tell her first. A lot of viewers were so hooked on Han Seo Joon, and most of them still are.
We can clearly see that Lim Jukyung didn’t notice all the efforts made by Seo Joon as she was desperately trying to make efforts for Suho. First of all, she didn’t notice his efforts. Secondly, she didn’t consider or even think of Han Seo Joon to ever like her or develop feelings for her because she considered him as her best friend with whom she could talk and speak anything about. She also treated him like a brother as he came over to her house as they were old family friends. Thirdly, Han Seo Joon treated her like a kid in a friendly way, which struck away the chances for her to even notice his feelings. By the time Han Seo Joon confessed, it was too late as Suho came back to her after years and apologized.
Webtoon Plot
In the webtoon, Ju Kyung ends up together with Seo Joon first and then ends up going back to Suho. They had a pretty decent relationship going on, however, in the recent episodes, it’s all messed up.
