V Live also known as V App is a South Korean live video streaming service that allows celebrities in the country to broadcast live videos on the internet, such as live chat sessions with fans, performances, reality shows, and award shows. The company was founded in late August 2015 by Naver Corporation and was passed to Weverse Company on March 2, 2022.
V Live, a South Korean live-streaming app, announced on Monday, Oct. 31, that it would be shutting down on December 31, 2022. HYBE, the media company that manages BTS as well as major artists such as Seventeen, Tomorrow X Together, and ZICO, announced in March that it had acquired V Live and planned to integrate it with its in-house fan communication platform Weverse. V Live stated that any artist who signed up for Weverse before December 31, 2022, will have their VLIVE content transferred to the app.
