Gao Tingyu is a Chinese speed skater who holds the Olympic record and has been the Men’s 500m chapion titleholder. He was a flag bearer for Team China both at the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
The 24-year-old skater won the men’s 500m speed skating gold medal in Beijing 2022, setting a new Winter Olympic history in the procedure with a time of 34.32, 0.09 seconds faster than the conventional world record by Norway’s Hvard Holmefjord Lorentzen in PyeongChang 2018.
