Red Velvet is a well-known South Korean Girlgroup. Originally Red velvet was a 4-member group consisting of Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, and Joy when they debuted in the year 2014 with their single Happiness. Yeri joined Red Velvet as a 5th and final member in the year 2015 with the first mini-album release Ice Cream Cake. They debuted under SM Entertainment.
This month, Red Velvet is feeding REVELUVs with new songs. The band not only made a long-awaited return last week, but their first complete Japanese album is also on the way. Before we get there, the girls have released Wildside, their new J-pop track. SM artists have a long history in Japan, and everyone is looking forward to another act to carry on SNSD’s strong J-pop tradition. So far, Red Velvet b-sides like Aitai-Tai and Swimming Pool have surpassed their respective singles.
REVELUVs might like the “velvety” sound of Wildside. It’s more controlled and constant than many of their title songs, highlighting their consistently great vocals. On a more particular note, everyone is delighted to see Nam Donghyun featured in the album credits. Red Velvet excels in R&B, especially when tackling a seductive track like Bad Boy. Wildside conjures up a great beat, and the members offer a lot of sass.
