The Eminence in Shadow (陰の実力者になりたくて / Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!) is a Japanese action-comedy light novel series that also has a manga adaptation. It is scheduled to have an anime adaptation as well.
PLOT: People aspire to be brave heroes and evil villains, but Cid Kagenou is not among them. He aspires to be the genuine ringleader behind everything, pulling strings and directing the main script. He was unable to accomplish his objectives in his prior life in modern-day Japan. But now that he’s been reincarnated into a magical world, he will demonstrate the true majesty of darkness! As Cid poses as an ordinary mobster, he selects members for his (phoney) organization Shadow Garden, which aims to bring down the strange secret society that lingers in the darkness. Cid equates his (phoney) organization against the vile (but still astonishingly genuine) Diabolos Cult with plenty of ad-libs.
A new visual for the anime was released today! The anime is scheduled to release this October.
