‘Pachinko’ is an upcoming Apple Tv+ drama that has gained a lot of attention as the worldwide famous Korean actor Lee Min Ho was cast as one of the leads in this drama.
The drama is adapted from Lee Min Jin’s 2017 novel of the same name, which earned widespread acclaim. Pachinko is an international production starring, not just Korean artists but also a variety of actors from other countries. It will portray the experiences of four generations of Korean immigrant families, whose lives have been shaped by history, and will express their hopes and dreams.
PACHINKO follows one Korean family through the generations, beginning in early 1900s Korea with Sunja, the prized daughter of a poor yet proud family, whose unplanned pregnancy threatens to shame them all. Deserted by her lover, Sunja is saved when a young tubercular minister offers to marry and bring her to Japan.
So begins a sweeping saga of an exceptional family in exile from its homeland and caught in the indifferent arc of history. Through desperate struggles and hard-won triumphs, its members are bound together by deep roots as they face enduring questions of faith, family, and identity.” – Lee MinJin Official Website
Pachinko premieres on Apple TV Plus on March 25 at 12 a.m. ET, with the first three episodes available that day. The remaining five episodes will be released on Fridays until April 29.
