Coldplay and BTS’s “My Universe” has now surpassed 500 million Spotify streams! On September 24, 2021, the song was released. It was the second official single from Coldplay’s ninth studio album, Music of the Spheres. It debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, becoming BTS’ sixth US chart-topper and Coldplay’s second after “Viva la Vida” in 2008. The single is also the first to reach the top of the charts by two co lead groups.
“My Universe” debuted at number three on the UK Singles Chart, claiming the year’s second-largest week in downloads and eventually becoming the most downloaded song of 2021 by a group in the country, as well as the first song by an Hollywood group to debut at number one in US history.
