Black Lagoon is a Japanese action seinen manga series written by Yamamura Hajime and Rei Hireo. It has an anime adaptation as well that came out in 2006.
The manga talks about Roanapur in Thailand. It’s a crime ridden city where even the churches are corrupted. It’s famous for being the hub of illegal activities. Rokurou Okajima , a Japanese businessman gets a chance to change his life with a trip to Southeast Asia.
Everything goes downhill when he gets kidnapped by a gangster group in Roanapur called Black Lagoon. The group planned to use him for a bargain but they fail. Backstabbed by his employer, Rokurou decides to join Black Lagoon. But to survive there, he has to become immune to bloodshed and death.
The illustrator of the manga has now promised a spin off of the manga focusing on Eda. It will highlight the time when she was in CIA. The spin off will be titled “Eda- Initial Stage”. It will be released on the 19th of April, 2022 in the Sunday GX issue 5/2022.
