On Friday, 4th of March, the official homepage for Aya Kanno’s Requiem of the Rose King (Bara- no Sretsu) television anime streamed a fresh teaser trailer for the anime’s second quarter. More cast members for the anime’s second half are revealed in the trailer. The song “Bara Rinbukyoku” (Rose Briar Rondo) by Makoto Furukawa, who sang the introductory soundtrack for the very first part of the anime, is used in the trailer.

The new cast members include:
Hikaru Midorikawa as Sir James Tyrell, Yuko Kaida as Jane Shore, Akira Ishida as the Duke of Richmond, Haruki Ishiya as Anthony Woodville Atsushi Tamaru as Thomas Grey: Marquess of Dorset and Shunichi Toki as Sir Richard Grey.
On January 9, the anime debuted on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, & KBS Kyoto, followed by BS11 on January 11.

Funimation has both a Japanese as well as an English dub of the anime available for streaming. The following is how Funimation explains the plot: As the families of York and Lancaster strive for the crown, the Wars of the Roses engulf medieval England. Richard is just the Duke of York’s third son and the heir to the throne.
Richard only wants it to happen, but his naive desire will thrust England deeper into the midst of the conflict. Nevertheless, Richard is fighting a much more brutal crusade.

For only a half-year run, the anime would broadcast for 2 sequential courses (quarters of a year).
The anime was supposed to debut this fall, however, the development team requested a postponement in July. The gothic horror tale of the manga is based on Shakespeare’s Richard III. The manga was licensed by Viz Media.
